The detail that got me is the boy trembling hardest while his foot's still hovering 🥹 He's not even wet yet. That's the bracing, not the cold. Which is where most of my anxiety has ever lived...entirely in the hover. Not saying it's not real, because that fear is (now) real and experienced. I wonder if death will be like that..? ...this thing we all fear but in the moment after we let go of the resistance, warmth rushes over us and we are transported. I like to believe that. curious how this shows up differently in senior leaders specifically, because a lot of them got promoted BY suppressing exactly what you're describing here..
